Last week, Parkside Elementary students were inspired by Dr. George Koonce, Senior Vice President for University Relations at Marian University and a well-known figure in Wisconsin.
Dr. Koonce encouraged students to dream big and stay involved, sharing personal stories about the importance of education, a value instilled by his parents. He also took questions from the students.
The Fond du Lac School District is grateful to our staff for organizing this event and to Dr. Koonce for taking the time to encourage our students. His words left a strong, lasting impact on those who heard him.
Before joining Marian, Koonce spent nine NFL seasons, eight as a starter for the Green Bay Packers, helping secure their first Super Bowl in 29 years. He also played for the Seattle Seahawks and served as the Packers' Director of Player Development, holding leadership roles at Marquette University and UW-Milwaukee.
